Only Canadian residents (for tax purposes) are eligible to apply for the Canada Dental Care Plan.

However, if your family income is between $70,000 and $79,999, 60% of the total cost is covered. In the case where the income is between $80,000 and $89,999, only 40% of the total cost is covered.
Irrespective of your family income, you may also need to pay if the dental treatment is not covered under CDCP or the fee is more than what is covered in CDCP.
Your coverage is valid for a year, so you will need to renew it annually. You must confirm that you are still eligible for the coverage. In case you have not renewed your coverage, you can always apply again. However, any dental treatment in the intervening period will not be covered.
